Content Policy
What may and may not be generated with SimpliGen, and what happens if you cross the line.
Last updated 18 August 2026
What SimpliGen is
SimpliGen is a general purpose image and video generation tool. You install it on your own computer, and it generates from the descriptions you write. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to buy or use it.
Like any general purpose creative tool, what it produces is decided by what its user asks it for. The limits on that are set out below and they are binding. We do not host, publish, display or distribute any generated content. There is no gallery, no feed, no community upload area and no content library on this website or in the application.
Where generation happens
By default, generation runs on your own computer using models installed on your own hardware. Your prompts and outputs stay with you and never reach us.
If you choose to spend cloud credits, generation runs on infrastructure we rent. The prohibitions below apply absolutely to cloud generation, because that is our infrastructure and our responsibility.
Absolutely prohibited
The following are prohibited without exception, everywhere, whether generated locally or in the cloud, and regardless of whether the depiction is photographic, illustrated, cartoon, animated or simulated. These are not house rules. They are crimes in the Netherlands and in most of the world.
This list is about sexual content. Violence in a story is not prohibited. Depicting a fight, a weapon, a crime, a kidnapping or a character in danger, as fiction of the kind published as a novel, a film or a game, is a normal creative use of SimpliGen and is permitted. What is prohibited is violence presented as sexual, and the specific categories below.
- Any sexual content involving minors, or involving adults depicted or presented as minors, including scenarios built around childhood indicators such as diapers. There is no artistic, fictional or stylistic exemption. This is the one thing that ends your relationship with us instantly and gets reported.
- Content that sexualises or endangers any real person who is a minor, in any context.
- Intimate or sexual imagery of a real, identifiable person created or shared without their consent, including so-called deepfake pornography.
- Any depiction of non-consensual sexual activity, including scenarios involving a sleeping, unconscious, restrained or otherwise incapacitated person.
- Sexual activity depicted as taking place under the influence of drugs, alcohol or hypnosis.
- Incest, or sexual scenarios between family members.
- Bestiality, or the sexual depiction of animals, and animal cruelty.
- Sexualised violence, including rape, abduction, restraint, torture, snuff or fantasy snuff scenarios.
- Anything else that is criminal under Dutch law.
Deepfakes and the likeness of real people
Generating a deepfake is prohibited. That means any image or video presenting a real, identifiable person doing or saying something they did not do or say, in any context, sexual or otherwise. This is not limited to explicit material.
More broadly, do not generate the image or strong likeness of a real, identifiable person without that person's consent. This includes public figures. If you cannot evidence consent, do not create it, publish it or share it.
Our character tools are for building fictional, invented characters and keeping them consistent across images. They are not face swap tools and must not be used to place a real person's likeness onto generated content.
Also prohibited
The following are not permitted anywhere in SimpliGen. Some are unlawful, and the remainder are content we will not have associated with the product or with our payment partners.
- Watersports and scat scenarios.
- Prostitution, escorting and the solicitation of sexual services.
- Polygamous scenarios.
- Hate speech, or content demeaning a person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic.
- Instructions or depictions facilitating criminal activity, including weapons or explosives manufacture, drug synthesis, or the planning of any illegal act.
- Material presented as professional advice, including medical, legal, financial, gambling or handicapping advice. SimpliGen produces images and video, not advice, and its output must not be presented as any of these.
- Content intended to deceive, such as fabricated evidence, forged documents, or fake news imagery presented as genuine.
- Content created to harass, defame, extort or impersonate any person.
- Material that infringes copyright, trademark or another person's rights, including reproducing protected characters, designs or works without permission.
Also not allowed on our cloud infrastructure
- Attempts to circumvent any safeguard we operate.
- Reselling cloud capacity, or using credits for anything other than generating your own work.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for what you generate, for having the rights to any reference image you upload, and for complying with the law where you live. Some content that is lawful in the Netherlands is not lawful elsewhere. That is your call to make, and your risk.
The AI models SimpliGen runs are made by third parties and carry their own licence terms and use restrictions. Those apply to you as well.
How this is enforced
Accepting this policy is a condition of using SimpliGen. It forms part of our Terms of Service, and it applies to every generation you make with the software.
Our cloud infrastructure is the only place we can technically intervene, because it is the only place your work reaches our systems. Every cloud generation is screened against the prohibitions below before it renders and before you are charged, and prompts that match are refused. A second review layer runs alongside it, examining phrasing and intent rather than individual terms, and it currently records what it would refuse while we measure it against real traffic.
Matches are recorded, not merely blocked. We keep the category, the matched term, the severity and the account indefinitely as an audit record, and we act on repeated or serious breaches by terminating accounts.
For local generation we are straightforward about the limit: your prompts and your outputs never reach us, so there is nothing for us to inspect. We can act on what is reported to us, and we do. Any merchant claiming to monitor generation that happens entirely on your own computer is either describing their product inaccurately or sending your work somewhere you did not agree to.
Breaching the absolute prohibitions results in immediate termination of your licence without refund, and, where the law requires it, a report to the relevant authorities. Other breaches may result in loss of cloud access or termination.
To report misuse, email hello@simpligen.io. We review every report.
